Statement from the TAFISA Executive Board Regarding the Current Situation in Ukraine

TAFISA expresses its profound sadness regarding the ongoing armed conflict and condemns the attack by the governments of Russia and the Republic of Belarus against Ukraine. In these volatile and extremely critical times, our sympathy and support go to Ukrainians and those affected by the conflict.
TAFISA stands for peace, mutual understanding, building bridges between peoples and cultures, and working together to create a better world. Violence is against our core values, and we sincerely hope that the world will come together and achieve a peaceful resolution to the current conflict.
As an international organisation, the ongoing situation affects the work of TAFISA and its members. Therefore, the TAFISA Executive Board has held an extraordinary meeting and made the decision to take the following measures, effective immediately:

1. No TAFISA event can take place in Russia or the Republic of Belarus until further notice. Organisations cannot bid or apply to host TAFISA events in either country.
2. TAFISA Membership is suspended for organisations from Russia and the Republic of Belarus.
3. Representatives and organisations from either country cannot take part in official TAFISA events, such as the TAFISA World Congress, TAFISA General Assembly, TAFISA World Sport for All Games, TAFISA Regional Sport for All Games, TAFISA World Walking Day and others.
4. No representative from Russia or the Republic of Belarus can represent TAFISA in any function or position. Existing functions and positions by representatives of either country in TAFISA bodies are suspended. Representatives of either country cannot be nominated or apply for a mandate as a TAFISA representative.
5. TAFISA representatives will not attend any events (physical or virtual) in Russia or the Republic of Belarus until further notice.

Additionally, the TAFISA Executive Board strongly suggests the following recommendations to TAFISA Members:

1. Hosting events in Russia or the Republic of Belarus should be avoided until further notice.
2. Representatives should avoid attending any events (physical or virtual) in Russia or the Republic of Belarus until further notice.
3. Representatives of Russia or the Republic of Belarus should not be allowed to participate in TAFISA members’ events and should not continue in their elected function or position within TAFISA member organisations.

Declaración de la Junta Ejecutiva de TAFISA sobre la situación actual en Ucrania

TAFISA expresa su profunda tristeza por el conflicto armado en curso y condena el ataque de los gobiernos de Rusia y la República de Bielorrusia contra Ucrania. En estos tiempos volátiles y extremadamente críticos, nuestra simpatía y apoyo van para los ucranianos y los afectados por el conflicto.
TAFISA es sinónimo de paz, comprensión mutua, construcción de puentes entre pueblos y culturas, y trabajo conjunto para crear un mundo mejor. La violencia va en contra de nuestros valores fundamentales, y esperamos sinceramente que el mundo se una y logre una resolución pacífica del conflicto actual.
Como organización internacional, la situación actual afecta el trabajo de TAFISA y sus miembros. Por lo tanto, la Junta Ejecutiva de TAFISA celebró una reunión extraordinaria y tomó la decisión de tomar las siguientes medidas, con efecto inmediato:

Ningún evento TAFISA puede tener lugar en Rusia o la República de Bielorrusia hasta nuevo aviso. Las organizaciones no pueden ofertar ni postularse para organizar eventos TAFISA en ninguno de los dos países.
Se suspende la membresía de TAFISA para organizaciones de Rusia y la República de Bielorrusia.
Los representantes y organizaciones de cualquiera de los dos países no pueden participar en eventos oficiales de TAFISA, como el Congreso Mundial de TAFISA, la Asamblea General de TAFISA, los Juegos Mundiales de Deporte para Todos de TAFISA, los Juegos de Deporte Regional para Todos de TAFISA, el Día Mundial de Caminata de TAFISA y otros.
Ningún representante de Rusia o la República de Bielorrusia puede representar a TAFISA en ninguna función o cargo. Se suspenden las funciones y cargos existentes de los representantes de cualquiera de los países en los órganos de TAFISA. Los representantes de cualquiera de los dos países no pueden ser nominados ni solicitar un mandato como representante de TAFISA.
Los representantes de TAFISA no asistirán a ningún evento (físico o virtual) en Rusia o la República de Bielorrusia hasta nuevo aviso.

Además, la Junta Ejecutiva de TAFISA sugiere encarecidamente las siguientes recomendaciones a los miembros de TAFISA:

No se debe evitar organizar eventos en Rusia o la República de Bielorrusia hasta nuevo aviso.
Los representantes deben evitar asistir a cualquier evento (físico o virtual) en Rusia o la República de Bielorrusia hasta nuevo aviso.
No se debe permitir que los representantes de Rusia o la República de Bielorrusia participen en los eventos de los miembros de TAFISA y no deben continuar en su función o cargo electos dentro de las organizaciones miembros de TAFISA.
